I always wanted a Rody for my kids! My best friend had one for her daughter 10 years ago - that is where I first learned about Rody. But he was hard to find in the US back then. By the time I started seeing him in the stores, my kids were too big. But now that I have another little one...I really want one. :)
So lucky for me (and you), I found a Rody giveaway ---------> HERE
If you win, you have to share. LOL

Who needs sand?
Here is a fun alternative to sand - bird seed.
All you need is a large bin or rubbermaid tub, a few toy trucks, a shovel and a package of bird seed. Your toddler will do the rest. The best part is that anything that gets spilled out will be eaten by the birds!
For indoor fun, you could try a tub filled with rice or beans. I will warn you, the rice is hard to clean out of carpet. Just don't try the rice outdoors, the birds will eat it but it's not good for them.
And if you like milk, here is another great idea - save your milk lids (or better yet, ask your friends & family to help you) and put those in a tub with a shovel and a net and you have another fun indoor activity for a rainy day.

Touch a Truck
Today Liam and I went to an event called Touch a Truck. The county puts on this event every year but we have never gone before.
The parking lot was filled with all kinds of trucks! They had firetrucks, tractors, big rigs, buses and even a limo. There was also a garbage truck that they were letting kids operate the garbage can lift. (I would have loved that as a kid - when I was five, I wanted to be a garbage man when I grew up, just to operate that lift).
Liam was mostly interested in playing at the Parents as Teachers table. They had a sensory table filled with bird seed and trucks. So we stayed there for a long time.
Later I took him on the city bus. He loved that bus. He got on and off and tried out all the seats. City buses are much nicer than I remember them. First of all, there are no steps anymore. Well, you have to step up to get on but once you take that first step, you're done. But you have to walk up steps if you want to sit at the back of the bus. Its like stadium seating at the the movies. Very cool. I think Liam and I will have to take a little field trip just riding the city bus around.

The Slide!
Liam loves to go to the park and he can go down the big twisty slide by himself! Well, he goes down backwards. LOL
Today, he went down his favorite slide and afterwards he told me it was "hot." It was kinda hot from the sun but it's plastic, not metal so it won't burn him. Besides, he's wearing sweatpants, so no worries!
I agreed with him and told him he was right, the slide was hot.
He then proceeded to blow on the slide - just the way I blow on his food when it's hot. Funny kid! I guess that's one way to solve the problem.

Baby's 1st Hair Cut
Liams hair was getting pretty long and I knew I was going to have to cut it sooner or later. It was time. :(
But he has the most beautiful curls in the back and I still can't bare the thought of those being cut off! So, I decided to just give his bangs a little trim. That still counts as a first hair cut, right? ;)
I decided the best place to cut them would be in our kitchen sink. That's where he takes most of his baths so I knew he would be comfortable. I gathered my supplies (fine tooth comb and hair cutting scissors - these are sharp scissors that aren't allowed to cut anything but hair) and filled up the sink.
Liam was at my feet yelling, "BATH BATH" Well, it was more like "BAAA BAAA" but I knew what he was saying. ;)
I washed his hair then combed it out. Paul was right there with the camera to document the milestone. Liam didn't really seem to mind either.
I barely cut anything off - but oh boy does Liam look different! I'm glad I only attempted to cut the front. Those curls are definitely going to be staying awhile.
